By Teresa Reile – Buffalo, NY – The women at t he Buffalo City Mission’s Cornerstone Manor for women and children in need will get a little h elp with their smiles this Valentine’s day when they open the goody bags provided by Gentle Dentistry of Lancaster, PLLC.

“One of our patients works for Cornerstone Manor and asked if we could help out with their Valentine’s Day celebration.  Of course our response was an emphatic, “yes”. The plight of some of these women truly makes one’s heart cry – especially when there are children involved.  We like to help in any way that we can,” says Dr. Glassbrenner.

Valentine’s Day is especially meaningful to women and when your loved ones have passed, or one is a victim of domestic violence, this holiday is not a holiday at all. It becomes a day of mourning.

The staff at Gentle Dentistry are asking people to remember the women and children this Valentine’s Day and do what you can to help.  Cornerstone Manor is having a Valentine’s Day event for the women at the mission and your help would be greatly appreciated.

Please log onto www.buffalocitymission.org and see what you can do to help.  The City Mission is always in need of donations of money, food, clothing, childrens toys, clothing, high chairs etc.

about us 12 300x141 Dr. Glassbrenner of Gentle Dentistry, PLLC announces move of East Aurora Office

Buffalo, NY – Gentle Dentistry of East Aurora, PLLC is moving to its’ 5,000 square foot, State of the Art Lancaster facility located at 5007 Transit Road to better service patients under one roof.  As of Jan. 1, 2012 the move should be complete.  Nothing will change for the East Aurora patients except a different location, more parking and the ease of having all services under one roof.

“This is something that has been in the works for awhile.  It was always our intention to move into our new space when our lease was up in the East Aurora location. This location is very centrally located and it’s only 10 minutes from the East Aurora location”, says Dr. Glassbrenner.

With their lease being up in the East Aurora location and the fact that Dr. and Mr. Glassbrenner have started a family by adopting a beautiful baby girl, the timing is just perfect to move the office.

According to Glassbrenner, one of the reasons they opened the Lancaster office in the first place, was to have the ability to expand the services that the practice could deliver while operating out of one location.  The Lancaster facility allows them to do just that.   There is more administrative as well as operatory space which allows all of the doctors to work together in one place therefore streamlining services.

Gentle Dentistry of Lancaster, PLLC  is fully equipped and ready to deliver all of your dental needs under one roof with no need to go anywhere else.

“We are very excited about this move as it has been something we have wanted for some time.  Not only will it streamline services for our patients, but also for us as a team.  We are a tight knit group as it is, and this just makes our job more fun and enjoyable for all,” expounds Glassbrenner.

Accepting new patients, one can call 716 652 7080 or visit www.WeAreGentleDentistry.com to book your appointment today.

048 300x225 Dr. Glassbrenner Urges Support for Rock Wall Project at the Roycroft Campus

Help Save the Rock Wall in East Aurora

East Aurora, NY – The Roycroft Campus Corporation could use your help to secure funds to repair the iconic rock wall surrounding the historic Roycroft Campus and preserve the bucolic feel of the town. This help is needed by Dec. 20, 2011.

If you have ever visited the historic town of East Aurora, or for those lucky enough to live there, one of the first things that one sees is the huge rock wall that starts at the beginning of town and encompasses the Roycroft Campus.

This historic Rock Wall was built in the early 1900’s and is one of the things that people who live in East Aurora have come to accept as part of the community.  Much like an old friend, people of the town have fond memories of hanging out with comrades while sitting on the wall, watching their little ones climb on this wall, or having a cup of coffee contemplating life while sitting on this wall.

Whatever fond memories come to mind when reminiscing about East Aurora, that wall just always seems to be a part of them.  That historic wall which has supported us for over 100 years, now needs our support. It is in desperate need of repair and the Roycroft Campus Corporation (RCC) has secured time sensitive funding for a portion of the restoration work.

Your help is needed!  The funding will only become reality if the people of the community come together to help with this worthy project.  The funding hinges on local support as it is a matching funds grant.   If the community comes together to support this project and preserve a piece of history then together we can realize this goal.

For a limited time, the RCC is offering original keepsake roof tiles, capstones and chimney bricks from the 1909 Roycroft Power House to donors. In addition to receiving one of these historic treasures, your name will be engraved on an individual or group plaque in perpetuity for future generations to admire and thank.

Donations must be secured by December 20, 2011.

You have a chance to be a part of this preservation project and own a piece of history.

Dr. Glassbrenner of Gentle Dentistry, PLLC did just that and she is very happy that she did.  “I just love this town.  That’s why I decided to be a part of this community and start my professional career here – right on Main St. next to that rock wall.  It really is something that one comes to treasure and being a part of this restoration gives me great pride.  I am happy to know that my children and children for generations to come will be able to climb on that wall just like I did as a little girl.”

For more information contact:  Christine Peters, Exec. Dir. Roycroft Campus Corporation at (716) 652-5908 or send donations to:  RCC, 31 South Grove Street, East Aurora, NY 14052

About Roycroft Campus – The Roycroft Campus Corporation (RCC) seeks to preserve and promote the ideals, traditions, architectural legacy and business skills of Elbert Hubbard and the Roycrofters through the acquisition and restoration of the Roycroft Campus buildings and grounds, in a manner consistent with their National Historic Landmark status. dr g rising star1 300x169 CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION OF WNY AWARDS DR. GLASSBRENNER AS ‘RISING STAR’ AT PEARL ST. GRILL

BUFFALO, NY – The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Western NY awarded Dr. Leslie Glassbrenner of Gentle Dentistry,  PLLC with the “Rising Star” Award given to outstanding young professionals who have been found to be not only successful, but humanitarian contributors to society.

The award ceremony, which took place at Pearl St. Grill in Buffalo, NY honored several young professionals. Together, these professionals raised over $30,000.00 prior to the award ceremony to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.  A very moving speech was given by a beautiful young woman who suffers from this ravaging disease. The courage of this young woman was honorable and prompted a rousing response when she finished speaking.

“I encourage everyone to get involved with charities that matter to you. If you don’t have one, find one that appeals to you and help others.   I am so proud of my staff at Gentle Dentistry because they are constantly reaching out to help those in need,” says Dr. Glassbrenner.
Cystic fibrosis, a chronic inherited disease affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States alone (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus which clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections. This disease affects pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
Most people are diagnosed with this disease at a young age and are not expected to live past the age of 30. However, with advances in medicine and the continued support of people like Dr. Glassbrenner, hope for a cure is becoming more of a reality.
In the 1950s, most children with cystic fibrosis died before attending elementary school. Today, with advances in research and medical treatments the life expectancy has been greatly increased and many people with the disease live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.
  • About 1,000 new cases of cystic fibrosis are diagnosed each year.
  • More than 70% of patients are diagnosed by age two.
  • More than 45% of the CF patient population is age 18 or older.
About The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Since 1955, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been the driving force behind the pursuit of a cure. Thanks to the dedication and financial backing of supporters–patients, families and friends, clinicians, researchers, volunteers, individual donors, corporations and staff, they are making a difference.
